Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score?
The CRS is a points-based system used to assess and rank Express Entry candidates. Points are awarded based on core human capital factors: skills, education, language ability, work experience, and other factors like a provincial nomination or a job offer.
Can I include my family in the PR application?
Yes. You can include your spouse or common-law partner and dependent children in your application. They will also be granted PR status.
Does having a job offer guarantee PR?
A valid job offer is not mandatory for the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), but it significantly increases your CRS score. For some PNP streams, a valid job offer may be a mandatory requirement.
What benefits do I get as a Canadian Permanent Resident?
You receive most of the social benefits that Canadian citizens receive, including universal healthcare, social services, and protection under Canadian law. You can also apply for Canadian citizenship after meeting the residency obligation.
